Adam and Eve

Buy the T-ShirtDisinfectant, coffee, plastic milk and marmalade.
Air freshener, armchairs, cigarettes and television.
Ornaments, ornaments, cups of tea and wallpaper.

No one notices.

Concrete, cars, turf and bicycles.
Street lamps, roads, estates and verges.
Ornaments, ornaments tarmac carpets and trees.

No one notices.

A button is pressed.

No one notices.

Destruction, desolation.
Burst pillows comfort shattered heads.
Four-poster beds have been posted to the dead.

No one notices.

Adam and Eve return, but with no original sin.
Life is a ball, it’s all fun, fun, fun.
With notices saying,
‘Welcome to Disneyland’.
